“Bldg. 14 works to preserve [the] history and tell a new story of modern manufacturing in the United States.” ― alabamachanin.com
It’s been 5 years since we opened Building 14, the machine manufacturing arm of Alabama Chanin’s Family of Businesses. In those five years, we have ushered in the Core Club and the Clean Tee, partnered with like-minded businesses (and friends), such as Patagonia, and brought sustainable and ethically produced machine-sewn garments and home goods to patrons across the United States and beyond. On the heels of the 2019 Project Threadways Symposium, this week we take a look back at the history of Building 14 and of manufacturing in the Shoals area.
