“It’s only when you grow up and step back from him—or leave him for your own home—it’s only then that you can measure his greatness and fully appreciate it.” ― Margaret Truman

This coming Sunday, June 16th, is Father’s Day. In honor of the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our lives, this week we take look at a few of the most treasured fathers from literature.

Hans Hubbermann, The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak

Bob Cratchit, The Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens

Jean Valjean, Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo

Mr. Bennet, Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austin

Otto Frank, Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, by Anne Frank

Charles Ingalls, Little House on the Prairie, by Laura Ingalls Wilder

The Man, The Road, by Cormac McCarthy

Lastly, in Alabama, we could not discuss the beloved fathers in literature without including Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird by Monroeville native, Harper Lee.

With Father’s Day just around the corner, shop our ready-to-ship, screen-printed Clean Tees here, here, and here, or for a gift he will use every day, pair our Factory Blend Coffee (crafted by MuleTown Coffee Roasters) with the Chemex Pour Over Glass Coffee Maker and Large Heath Mug.
