“Canning is a whole world of a thing to do. It requires that you get out of your head. It’s a Zen thing.” ― Debby Bull, Blue Jelly: Lost Love & the Lessons of Canning
This year was the first time The Factory Café offered a series of Canning Workshops, teaching all attendees the heritage-skill of “putting up” spring and summer fruits and vegetables for the winter pantry. The final workshop in this series is next Tuesday (and a few spots are still left). We invite you to join us at the workshop, to explore canning a bit more in-depth, and to give some of the recipes below a try in your own kitchen.
