“The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.” ― Alfred Austin

This Saturday, January 25th, is National Seed Swap Day. Founded in 2006 by Washington Gardener editor Kathy Jentz, National Seed Swap Day honors and encourages the long-held tradition of gardeners and farmers sharing their seeds with each other. These trades encourage crop diversity and ensure that heirloom varieties do not die out. This week, while we dream about spring, we share seed-swapping resources and a bit of history on our own adventures with seeds.
