Since setting up shop in the former Tee-Jays manufacturing building (more on the history of The Factory here) on Lane Drive in Florence in 2008, Alabama Chanin has prided itself on being part of, and contributing to, our local community. Three-Day Workshop @ The Factory
This workshop opens our studio doors at The Factory and allows participants to work with Natalie, our in-house team, a selection of our most loved DIY garment patterns, and our extensive DIY stencil library. All attendees will design their own DIY Sewing Kit and will enjoy local cuisine and a tour of The Shoals music scene. Advanced registration is required.

Classic Studio Week @ The Factory
This week-long event invites participants into The School of Making’s expanded studio for a total immersion into our philosophies, methods, materials, and products. Participants will experiment with several different techniques in hand sewing and will be guided through each step in the process of creating a garment from The School of Making. Attendees will enjoy local cuisine, yoga, and sightseeing. Advanced registration is required.
