We are honored and grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response to our reusable face masks. The entire Alabama Chanin and Bldg. 14 teams have been working to safely produce them for over four weeks now. Each day the nation’s need grows, and each day we look for ways to help – all while keeping our staff safe and healthy while working. As a result of the masks’ popularity, we are updating the colors to include Black, Navy, and Peacock. We’re also sharing a basic pattern for a filter insert. Download it here. Visit here for a recommendation for the best materials—we’ve found that coffee filters work well.
Because of the number of guest orders we’ve received and our daily production capacity at The Factory, we’ve partnered with two multi-generation family businesses that have committed to keeping manufacturing alive in the USA. We’re extremely grateful to find like-minded, family-owned businesses in the midst of this crisis. These critical partnerships have allowed us to speed up our delivery times (see the chart below) and also begin to supply larger institutions and health-care providers with masks. We’re proud that our product and production have been able to service so many in this time. While we are updating our colors and shortening our delivery times, we are also making room in our production for orders of 100, 1,000, 10,000, or more. Contact information for placing bulk orders can be found below. We’re proud to have been able to partner with so many stellar organizations in this time of need.
Due to ongoing supply chain (organic fabric, elastic, and thread) issues, we have to raise the price of our masks today to $15.50. Our goal at the onset of this project was to provide as many masks as we could and to also keep our people working in a safe environment. We’ve been able to do both but supplies have, in an ongoing manner, been difficult to coordinate as makers across the country and globe respond to this pandemic.
“Your masks are worth waiting for…..They are right in line with both the CDC’s and WHO’s guidelines for cloth masks. That’s exactly what I want for my loved ones.”
As always, our masks are made from our 100% organic cotton jersey, in an ethical and community-based way. We look forward to continuing to serve all of you and the essential workers who are protecting each of us, and we are working diligently to get these masks made and sent out in the most expedient and efficient manner possible.
