Striped Socks

We’ve been working with Little River Sock Mill—who manufacturers in Fort Payne, Alabama—to produce these organic cotton socks with designs exclusive to Alabama Chanin since 2014. Gina Locklear spent her summers watching her parents make socks at their mill. Now she works alongside them and has developed an organic line. Our styles offer a unisex fit and absolute comfort.

Love Tee

The Love Tee is crafted from our lush, ultra-soft lightweight organic cotton jersey with just the right amount of stretch. This classic style is a unisex fit and a great-fitting t-shirt. Designed to feel like that well-loved tee that has been in your closet for years, yet it is refined enough to be styled with your most elevated looks. The Love Tee offers a relaxed, yet tailored fit, short sleeves, and a straight cut through the body.

Music Tees

Cedric Burnside is a Grammy Award-nominated artist and on local record label, Single Lock. Known for his stellar drumming, Cedric blends elements of blues with his own contemporary style and stepped out from behind the drums to play guitar on his latest album. We collaborated on the t-shirt design for Benton County Relic’s release. Made from soft, lightweight organic cotton, the stenciled t-shirts depict his album artwork (an image of Cedric and lyrics ‘Life Can Be So Easy, Life Can Be So Hard’ from the track “Hard To Stay Cool”). We have a few of the limited-edition tees in stock and can pair them with his album for gift bundle.

Carrying on the tradition of music in our community and designed to honor the rich musical roots of the Muscle Shoals area, another music tee, the Jackson Highway Tee, pays homage to the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio located at 3164 N Jackson Highway in Sheffield, Alabama. A “mecca for rhythm and blues, rock and pop artists in the ’60s and ’70s,” the studio was home to the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section who worked with world-renowned artists like Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Eta James, Paul Simon, and many others, all in this tiny corner of Northern Alabama. The Jackson Highway Tee offers a relaxed, yet tailored fit, short sleeves, a straight cut through the body, and screen-printed lettering. It would be coveted by any music lover.

The Factory Blend Coffee

Our signature blend is roasted up the road about 70 miles in Columbia, Tennessee, by Muletown Coffee Roasters. The full-bodied dark roast has a buttery feel and slight dark chocolate finish and is available from our website. Pair with a Heath Ceramics Mug to complete your morning cup.

Embroidered Hat

Made by FairEnds out of California, our 100% organic cotton cap is offered in Black and Navy and features an embroidered Alabama Chanin mark. FairEnds was born in 2011 out of simplicity, founders Ben and Martin wanted to make a line of colorful hats that were both urban and western, a nod to their cross-country locations.

Bi-Fold Wallet by Slightly Alabama

Slightly Alabama is a brand of leather goods founded in 2013 by Dana Glaeser, who spent much of his time in the small towns in north Alabama where his family lived. Operating as a small atelier, they produce limited quantity leather bags, wallets, belts, cases and accessories. Their products are designed and manufactured in their West Village, New York studio where they focus on developing expertise in design through traditional techniques and processes. We offer their bi-fold wallet in black and brown and a special Dopp Kit for your toiletry essentials.

Cookbooks + Music

We stock our store with cookbooks, music, and musings from some of our favorites. In Pickles, Pigs & Whiskey: Recipes from My Three Favorite Food Groups and Then Some, James Beard Award-winner John Currence shares his unique style of cooking with 130 recipes, personal stories, music pairings, and beautiful photography by Angie Mosier. With a foreword by John T. Edge, the cookbook is organized by 10 techniques like slathering, pickling, roasting, bringing, and baking. Each recipe has a song pairing with it and throughout the book, John shows the driving force that Southern food has in the culinary world today.

Another driving force—but in the Southern music world—is John Paul White. The Hurting Kind is the latest album from the 4-time GRAMMY winner and Single Lock co-founder. With The Hurting Kind, John Paul draws on the lush, orchestrated music made in Nashville in the early 1960s, writing about overwhelming love, unraveling relationships, and the fading memory of a loved one. Also on the Single Lock label is The Prescriptions with their debut album Hollywood Gold, they’ve been called a “rock band ready to transform into who knows what—they’ve struck a truly charming indie rock sound.”

And P.S.: Learn about the history of Father’s Day here.

P.P.S.: See Natalie and her dad, circa 1964.
