“The creative power to transform society from within.” – Li Edelkoort

In spring 2020, trend forecaster, Lidewij “Li” Edelkoort announced a new hope manifesto for a post-pandemic world. Founded as the World Hope Forum, this gathering includes “climate change on its agenda as well as caring for all neglected people involved in production chains and services.”

According to Edelkoort, “Under the leadership of ambassadors chosen in participating countries, the World Hope Forum will bring together speakers and selected case studies, good practices, retail reinventions and innovative ideas that will sprout in the spring of revival.”

Learn more about the work of Li Edelkoort and the World Hope Forum below.

P.S.: Anti plastic pollution activist Barbara de Vries, who is also the US Ambassador for the World Hope Forum, will be speaking at the Project Threadways Symposium on Saturday, April 23rd. For her talk, Do Look Down! Plastic: from Pollution to the New Material of the Anthropocene Age, Barbara will show images from her 17-year journey in environmental activism and speak to waste plastic, raw and recycled, as a new material in design, art, and crafts as well as education and communication, including how to spot green washers.

Register for the Project Threadways Symposium held on April 21 – 23rd here. In-person and virtual ticket options are available.

A signature “Wave” blue colorway and hand-painted “Wind” motif—which embodies the atmospheric choreography of leaves in the wind—are woven throughout the newly released designs.

Core Essentials Refresh: Explore a refreshed assortment of indispensable wardrobe staples and everyday basics for every wardrobe.

Life + Living: The Wave blue colorway featured in Alabama Chanin’s new Wind + Wave collection carries into our latest collaboration with Heath Ceramics. Discover artisan-crafted plates, bowls, and nested dinnerware sets designed in collaboration with our friends at Heath Ceramics.
