Artwork, Fabric, and The School of Making Designs that inspired the Color Palette for Studio Bundle #2 Fabric and Materials Bundle

“Untitled (S.270),” 1954–1958 by Ruth Asawa via the Whitney Museum of American Art; Fabric Swatch in Abstract Camel/Camel with Reverse Appliqué; Installation views of Todd Hido: The Poetry of Darkness for the University of Kentucky Art Museum via Institute 193Family, 1965 by Margaret Mead and photographed by Ken Heyman; The A-Line Top + Tunic Kit in Abstract Navy/Navy; Color sample swatches from the development of Studio Bundle #2.

The School of Making design team begins each new project by curating a color palette to inspire and guide our making practice. We often look to artwork, books, and scenes from the world around us to find inspiration for unique color combinations (and in choosing the silhouettes and techniques that will bring our design vision to life).

Studio Bundle #2 presents a timeless color palette that can serve as the basis for any project. The bundle includes 2-yard cuts each of White, Natural, Ballet, Camel, and Navy Medium-Weight Cotton Jersey, with the option to add on thread and embroidery floss in complementing colors, as well as our new Paloma Bead Mix.
