ANNOUNCING 2017 FRIENDS OF THE CAFÉ DINNERS

Alabama Chanin hosted our very first Friends of the Café Dinner in May of 2014, and since then we’ve experienced meals and enjoyed gatherings that were nothing short of magical. In retrospect, we almost cannot believe the lineup of talented chefs who have graciously donated their time for these special fundraisers: Sean Brock, Ashley Christensen, Lisa Donovan, Adam Evans, Chris Hastings, Vivian Howard, Rob McDaniel, Angie Mosier, Anne Quatrano, Drew Robinson, Rodney Scott, Frank Stitt —and more.

This year’s schedule is no less impressive, with appearances (and reappearances) from some of the South’s most respected chefs. We have long hoped to convince Scott Peacock to co-host a dinner, and this year his schedule will allow him to join us for 2017’s first event on April 15th. On June 24th, Ashley Christensen will return for her second dinner, and on August 24^th, we will welcome Atlanta-based chef Asha Gomez to The Factory for the first time. (Learn more about Asha on the Journal tomorrow.) All proceeds from the Friends of the Café Dinners will once again benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance.

Our very own café chef Zach Chanin prepares a special menu, as we host two Harvest Suppers for The Factory Café—one in the spring on May 27^th and one in the fall on October 21^st.

Tickets for all five events are now on sale and—for those who wish to give tickets as a holiday gift—digital gift certificates are available. Simply choose the gift certificate option at checkout along with the recipient’s email address, and we will email a digital 8.5″ x 11″ color PDF that can also be printed out for gifting.

P.S.: If you live nearby, you can stop by The Factory until Friday the 23^rd from 10am – 5pm to make an in-store purchase. The Factory will be closed on Christmas Eve, as will the Alabama Chanin offices. The Alabama Chanin offices will be closed on December 23^rd and 24^th, but our “elves” will be filling online orders for digital gift certificates via email on those days. All of Alabama Chanin and The Factory will reopen on Monday, December 26^th with regular hours.
