All Alabama Chanin offices and The Factory are closed today in observance of New Year’s Day. We’ll reopen tomorrow with regular hours. Have a safe and happy holiday as you welcome the new year.
Because we’re closed Monday, we’ll be hosting our First Mondays sewing group on Tuesday, January 2nd from 8:30am to 11:30am. Share encouragement and laughs with fellow sewers while you work on your most recent sewing project. Afterwards, join us for lunch in the café.

The Factory Café will be serving macaroons for a limited time starting Wednesday. Stop by to try one (or two) and learn about the inspiration behind the recipe (from the cookbook Frida’s Fiestas: Recipes and Reminiscences of Life with Frida Kahlo).
Beginning January 5th, all of our 100% organic medium-weight cotton jersey fabric will be sold unwashed. This includes fabric yardage, as well as fabric included in our Build a Wardrobe subscription.
The Factory Dress—our first pattern for 2017 Build a Wardrobe—will be available for purchase from our Resources page starting Thursday. The digital PDF is $18 and is formatted for both large-format and tile printing.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Join us at The Factory for Third Mondays on January 16th from 8:30am to 11:30am. Work on your current sewing project in the company of fellow sewers and friends. Tea, coffee, and lunch will be available in our Factory Café. Please remember to bring your own fabric and sewing notions.
DAILY LUNCH
We’re serving up a locally sourced lunch on weekdays from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Our Daily Menu offers soups, quiche, sandwiches, and desserts made with organic ingredients from local farms and purveyors. We also offer a selection of wine, beer, and hot beverages. We give free, guided tours of The Factory Monday – Friday at 2:00pm. Get a behind-the-scenes look at our production studio and learn about our company history from a member of the Alabama Chanin team.
SATURDAY BRUNCH
Our brunch menu includes weekly specials like Eggs in a Basket, as well as our brunch staples like buttermilk French Toast, quiche, and our Farm Breakfast. To complement your meal, we offer The Factory Blend coffee, mimosas, and festive cocktails. Our store is open until 3:00pm. Visit us to see the Alabama Chanin firsthand and browse our selection of American-made kitchen wares and home goods.
CAFÉ SERVICES
The Factory and our head chef Zach offer catering and freshly-baked whole cakes for any special occasions. Our Weekday Catering Menu offers options for breakfast, as well as boxed lunches and buffets.
