“I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear.” – Rosa Parks
February 1st marks the beginning of Black History month in the United States. It has inspired us to look to and learn about the influential African-American women throughout American history in the realms of literature, art, and music, and the activists who fought for rights and justice not only for African Americans across this country but for the rights of all women on a global scale. This week, we share with you inspiring women throughout the history of the United States. Look on the Journal for a series of stories about some of these courageous women throughout the month of February.
