“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Over the past few years, we’ve shared about the inspiration that is Martin Luther King, Jr. on or around this day marked to honor his memory—included are posts about music from and inspired by the Civil Rights Movement (here and here), the history of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a DIY Corset (shown above) with one of our favorite quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr., and a cake for one of the unsung heroines of the Civil Rights Movement, Georgia Gilmore.
On this day of service, we encourage you to take time to reflect on how to better the community around you.
Here is what we have going on this week, Monday, January 18 – Saturday, January 23:
Natalie shares stories of her life and travels—and how she found herself on The Moth Mainstage last year. Read along, listen to Natalie’s story, and find some great podcast recommendations.
Go ahead and make plans to stop by The Factory on Saturday, January 30, for Sip + Sew Saturday. Celebrate the weekend’s arrival by working on your latest sewing project in fellowship with others—relax and enjoy a mimosa (or two).
Tickets are selling fast for our next installment of our Café Dinner Series, featuring award-winning chefs Frank Stitt and Rodney Scott on Thursday, March 24. Cocktails will begin at 6:30pm, with dinner following at 7:30pm. Purchase your tickets now.
