Since 2014, we have worked with Patagonia on a beautiful circular design project, the Reclaimed Down Scarf. The goal of circular design is for every product to reflect sustainability from the beginning of life as a raw material, through design, manufacturing, active life, and end-of-life processes. Garments that reach the end of their lives become an active part of the environment through composting or upcycling into a new form.
Our collaboration with Patagonia is an important one to us—because we share so many of the same values and because their company was one of the first (if not the first) to consider responsible production as a key component to their manufacturing.
We are excited to continue our long-term partnership, as Patagonia continues to provide raw upcycled materials for a whole new list of products that we’ve developed: Reclaimed Down Long Scarf, Reclaimed Down Short Scarf, Reclaimed Down Bandana, and the Reclaimed Down Wrap. Each of these products is truly one-of-a-kind and no one is like any other.
These products are made in the same way that our original Reclaimed Down Scarf was created—using down jackets upcycled from Patagonia’s Worn Wear product replacement program. One difference in the fabrication of these accessories than the original Reclaimed Down Scarf is that these accessories are 100% machine-sewn— allowing us to offer them at a lower price point. All of the items are being made by our Bldg. 14 team from our headquarters in Alabama.
